Ender's Game Movie

Ender's Game MovieEnder's Game, Orson Scott Card's cult science-fiction novel, is likely to be adapted into a movie in a not too distant future. According to the Los Angeles Times Production company Odd Lot Entertainment is indeed determined to push forward the live action movie adaptation of Ender's Game that's been in limbo for years. Gavin Hood (who brought us Wolverine) is currently working on a rewrite of the script. And he is the likely director, but that's not confirmed yet.

Plot:
"Set in Earth's future, the novel presents an imperiled humankind who have barely survived two conflicts with the Formics (an insectoid alien race also known as the "Buggers"). In preparation for an anticipated third invasion, an international fleet maintains a school to find and train future fleet commanders. The world's most talented children, including the novel's protagonist, Ender Wiggin, are taken at a very young age to a training center known as the Battle School. There, teachers train them in the arts of war through increasingly difficult games including ones undertaken in zero gravity in the Battle Room where Ender's tactical genius is revealed."

I'm really glad to hear about this movie adaptation of Ender's Game. I read Orson Scott Card's novel, and I can tell you that it's a powerful story.

Let's hope that the Ender's game movie will enter into production soon and that it will be a success: if we're lucky it may then transform into a movie franchise!

We'll bring you more details about the movie Ender's game soon!

Update: The official plot synopsis:

Plot:
"In the near future, a hostile alien race (called the Formics) have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander, Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley), all would have been lost. In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Graff (Harrison Ford) and the International Military are training only the best young children to find the future Mazer. Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a shy, but strategically brilliant boy is pulled out of his school to join the elite. Arriving at Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters increasingly difficult war games, distinguishing himself and winning respect among his peers. Ender is soon ordained by Graff as the military’s next great hope, resulting in his promotion to Command School. Once there, he's trained by Mazer Rackham, himself, to lead his fellow soldiers into an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race."
